As Creative Director at Studio X, I led 11 multidisciplinary, multimedia art installations and creative projects, collaborating closely with designers, filmmakers, and artists to bring concepts from ideation through execution. My role focused on translating abstract ideas into cohesive visual and experiential narratives, balancing creative direction with production constraints and audience experience.

The Story

My involvement began when I was invited to co-direct The Outside Observer, a multimedia short film exploring dissociation and perception during the COVID-19 pandemic. Directed alongside Benjamin Koshy Jacob and later featured at The Blackwood Gallery, the film featured looping domestic routines, overhead cinematography, and ambient sound design to position the viewer as an external observer of everyday life. This project marked the beginning of my deeper creative leadership within Studio X and shaped my approach to concept-driven multimedia storytelling and exhibition-ready execution.

That year culminated in our biggest milestone yet: Studio X was recognized with multiple University of Toronto Mississauga Student Group Awards, including the:

  • 2024 Student Group Award for Global & Intercultural Engagement

  • 2024 Student Group Award for Collaboration.

Awarded “2024 Student Group Award for Global & Intercultural Engagement” and “2024 Student Group Award for Collaboration” by the University of Toronto: Mississauga.

Awarded “Club Excellence” out of 150+ student organization for the 2023/24 Academic Year.

These efforts also led to Studio X receiving the Club Excellence Award from the University of Mississauga Student Union, recognizing the collective’s excellence in programming, collaboration, and campus-wide impact.
