As the Marketing Director of the Digital Enterprise Management Association, I led a 15-member creative team in redefining how the student club connected with students. DEMA turned from a formal academic group into an engaging, community-driven brand. Through data-informed storytelling, brand strategy, and creative leadership, we achieved record engagement and earned the title of Club of the Year (2023–2024).

The Story

When I stepped into the role of Marketing Director for the Digital Enterprise Management Association (DEMA), I had one goal: To humanize the brand. DEMA had long been seen as too formal and distant, which made it difficult for students to connect. I wanted to change that by building a marketing strategy that felt approachable, creative, and community-driven.

Over the course of the year, I led a 15-member Marketing and Creative team in changing how the association communicated across all channels. We rebuilt DEMA’s visual identity, launched storytelling campaigns that celebrated student voices, and implemented a new Notion-based content system to streamline workflows and improve team collaboration. The results spoke for themselves, we achieved record-breaking engagement metrics, increased social reach by TWO TIMES! This set a new benchmark for what student-led marketing could look like at the University of Toronto.

That year culminated in our biggest milestone yet: DEMA was named Club of the Year (2023–2024) by the University of Toronto Mississauga Students’ Union, chosen from more than 150 student organizations. Beyond the numbers, what mattered most was seeing how creative collaboration could turn a once “stiff” academic club into a vibrant, connected community.
