“SAP Value Advisory — Maple Manufacturing Mini-Case Pitch”

On-Site SAP Consulting Challenge (1-Hour Sprint)

The Case Challenge

At SAP Toronto’s Value Advisory on-site, I was selected to participate in a high-pressure consulting sprint. Our team had just one hour to analyze a real manufacturer’s operations, isolate the most critical business challenges, and recommend SAP solutions that would improve efficiency, visibility, and long-term growth.

Working with limited time and incomplete data, we had to think like advisors: synthesize quickly, prioritize ruthlessly, and articulate a compelling value story. We then pitched our recommendations directly to SAP Sales, Product, and Account Executives, simulating the pace and expectations of a real advisory engagement!

  • We selected SAP S/4HANA Cloud to eliminate Maple’s system fragmentation and create real-time operational visibility. We paired it with SAP Analytics Cloud because Maple’s executive team needs modern analytics, predictive insights, and automated reporting to make faster, data-driven decisions. Together, S/4HANA + SAC form a scalable modernization strategy that strengthens efficiency, planning accuracy, and long-term growth.

  • Working with a condensed case file, we quickly identified Maple’s two most urgent challenges:

    1. Fragmented systems & lack of real-time visibility

      Finance, supply chain, and production operated on disconnected legacy tools, forcing manual reporting and inconsistent decision-making.

    2. Inefficient production & demand planning

      Manual spreadsheets and reactive planning led to:

    • recurring stockouts

    • excess inventory

    • misaligned production runs

    • operational delays and higher costs

    These issues were symptoms of a deeper structural problem: Maple lacked a unified operational core and the analytics to guide leadership decisions.

  • We recommended a dual-solution architecture:

    1. SAP S/4HANA Cloud

    • Replaces legacy systems with a unified ERP

    • Enables real-time visibility across finance, production, and supply chain

    • Eliminates manual reporting

    • Creates a single source of truth for the entire organization

    2. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

    • Provides executive dashboards, automated reporting, and predictive analytics

    • Improves forecasting accuracy and shortens decision cycles

    • Aligns department leaders with consistent KPIs

    • Turns operational data into actionable decision intelligence

    Together, S/4HANA + SAC modernize Maple’s core operations while enabling leadership to plan proactively rather than reactively.

  • We selected SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud because they directly address Maple Manufacturing’s two largest barriers to growth:

    • S/4HANA Cloud fixes the structural problem: fragmented systems and poor data flow.

    • SAC fixes the decision problem: leadership lacks insights, forecasts, and real-time performance data.

    This combination improves efficiency today and builds the digital foundation Maple needs for long-term, scalable modernization.

    • Led the rapid problem prioritization and synthesis of operational bottlenecks.

    • Co-developed the value narrative and business-case framing.

    • Presented live in front of SAP’s Sales, Product, and Account Executive teams.

    • Strengthened my ability to structure recommendations under pressure and communicate with executive-level stakeholders.
